The bill (Reg. No. 2078) aims at bringing separate provisions of procedural legislation of Ukraine in the part of ensuring transparency of law procedure in line with international law and maintenance of real openness of justice.
It was noted that public trial implies that any person above 16 can be present in the court room and can take written notes. Participants of court proceedings and other persons present at a public trial have the right to use portable audio devices (recorders); leave of court is not required.
Committee members believe that this can lead to negative effects during session of the court.
